Kansas City Star | 02/14/2004 | Bush releases Guard records. Check the story, then note this from a letter to the Arizona Daily Star. Note the difference.

Retired Brig. Gen. William Turnipseed says he doesn't recall Bush, but he's not sure whether he was there in 1972, and the poor man now admits he has Alzheimer's disease.

Here is the story from the KC Star:

However, his own memory apparently isn't so sound. In 2000, Turnipseed told The Boston Globe that he would have remembered Bush had he reported for duty and that he didn't recall seeing the young pilot.

On Friday, he said: I don't even remember if I was there.

All I was trying to do was tell the truth about it. I'm beginning to find out my memory is not any good anymore. I'm 75 years old and getting Alzheimer's.

Get the cues? The Globe interview was in 2000. The Alzheimer's is from Friday, February 13th,
